Can the Zeiss Viewfinder ZI for Zeiss Ikon Camera When Used with 15mm ZM Lens be used with a Leica M-P (240) rangefinder camera?
Wrote to Zeiss about this 15mm viewfinder on a Leica M. Here is what they said:
With the Zeiss Ikon rangefinder camera, as well as with the analogue and digital Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras, the hot shoe on top is always slightly off-centered (shifted to the right). This small amount of off-centering does not influence the horizontal parallax view with any attached super wide external viewfinder (e.g. our 15mm viewfinder). The amount of off-centering is so small relative to the horizontal field of view that it plays no role at all in practical use.
So the viewfinder framelines in the 15mm only show the parallax markings for the small vertical shift between infinity and 0.7m closest focusing distance.
So this viewfinder can be used on all M-mount cameras together with any 15mm lens without any problems."
