Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tripod for the money Purchased this for our trip to the final space shuttle launch. Being lightweight, it worked well for airline travel as well as for carrying around on the morning of the launch. Mounted a Canon Rebel and Contour video camera on it to take video and stills simultaneously and it worked flawlessly. The quick release is effortless and was key to dodging around the crowd as it moved later in the launch sequence. The only drawback is the hand crank for the neck is a bit flimsy and I can see where some people could break it with very little force. Overall a solid, low price tripod that sets up in seconds and is easy to level.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far So Good I just bought this tripod to supplement my much heavier Belfont tripod I bought many years ago. The Nikon tripod is much lighter and easier to carry but still sturdy enough to hold most of my cameras. I like the quick release pad though the camera must be attached to it prior to using the tripod. This does take some getting used to as all other tripods I have owned you directly attach the camera to the tripod. The pad must be screwed into the camera using a small metal ring on the underside of the pad. One feature I like is the anti fold ring which prevents the tripod from from collapsing in the event someone kicks it or moves it accidently. To fold up the tripod you have to grab the ring and move it upwards. The Nikon tripod is the only tripod to have this feature of all the tripods I have owned. I recommend this tripod since it is lightweight, reasonably well made and not too expensive.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simply Great Tripod!!!! I bought this Tripod for my D90, it was perfect since it was made with the same company, I'm going to use this product in 2 weeks from now for a friends wedding, Hopefully this well do just fine, no broken gears or levers and locks when I use it soon. I can't wait to take it out and use it then. To make the story short, the only thing thats not so great about it is the plastic hinge piece that connects the legs and the bracket that goes to the center shaft is prone for breaking, that piece should need to be more rigid since its holding a moving parts. ... but overall its good product just be aware of that part I'm talking about before you put your in your expensive gadget it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a must-have for night shots. It's easy to setup and it also has a alignment bubble (it tells you if one leg is longer or shorter by having the bubble move around). The telescopic legs and the main chassis extends to around 5'8-9 perfect for my eye level. But I have seen other tripods that are more light weight. But the weight also gives it a feeling of sturdiness that would sometimes be found lacking in carbon fiber tripods. Overall it's great for getting the best out of low light shots. I did have problems installing the connector onto my D40 (while it was wearing Camera armor) and it seemed that the tripod better accommodates Nikon cameras with large bottom panels. And I hand problems getting it pan in all the directions because the connector plate was bigger than the Camera Armored D40 base panel. It might be a little heavy for travel but with the right bag or case it shouldn't be too hard to lug it around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! This tripod is super helpful! Its got quick-release tabs on all the parts, which makes set up and adjusting so easy and fast! Its overall just a convenient piece of equipment. My one qualm about it is that it doesn't allow for my microphone attachment to go on my camera, so I have to figure out how to attach my microphone to something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a differencw I am new to photography and never realized the difference a tripod would make. Before my shots looked like a had drunk a bottle of tequila, the shots now look like a cup of herbal tea. The tripod is easy to use and the price is even better. I would recommend this product as a great entry level tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is great I ordered the Nikon Tripod so we could put our spotting scope on it. It worked great. I like the way it screws right into the spotting scope and keeps it stable and secure for accurate viewing. It adjust to whatever height that is needed for different people without having to move the spotting scope. It also folds up for quick and easy carrying and storage. It is a great product for cameras also. I highly recommend it. B & H had the best price that I could find. I recommend ordering from them.
