Garfield SGARH Overview

The red Headphone Softie from Garfield is a set of soft headphone earpad covers, made of a velour-like rayon chenille fabric. The covers will fit most full-sized, circum-aural headphones, such as the Sony MDR-7506 and the Senal SMH-1000.

This product is designed with both practicality and comfort in mind, providing a nice cushiony feel for extended wear. It is also resistant to temperature extremes by providing warmth in cold weather, and deflecting perspiration in hot, humid locations.

The headphone Softies have no adverse effect on the frequency response or audio delivery of the headphones.

When I first put these on my headphone I was a little dubious about hearing well with them on - they seemed too comfy and thick - but not so. I have no problems with these. They claim to keep the ears cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and so far I can attest to warm in winter! I will have to wait on summer for a bit longer. I got these because the leathette on my Sony's was peeling off which then stuck to my clothes and ears. These have remedied the issue without impairing the sound. Also great if you want to take a nap - they are like sweaters for the ears!

THE absolute best thing ever invented. Soft for all day use, cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I found out about these about 8 years ago and have always had a pair wrapped around my Sony 7506s. 100% recommend! Sometimes I'm mixing a summertime rooftop worship service, sometimes I'm working as an A1 on a festival stage, sometimes I'm AV on a 3 day real estate seminar gig and SOMETIMES I'm DJing a city park gig in the SNOW! My headphones are ALWAYS COMFY!!!

The images look nothing like the colors you get. The product images look like an olive or drab green, almost brownish, but what you get is a more saturated speckled forest green, with a slightly teal hue to it. I had the same issue with the "gold" color, those came in looking more like hamburger buns. at $18 a pair, just unacceptable. Functionally, these are sort of must haves for field use.

My Sony MDR-7506's finally started to shed their thin vinyl covering, flaking off onto my ears and hair. i didn't notice until after the fact. That could account for the odd looks I was getting from my producers and clients... ;-0. I've seen these on my sound mixer colleagues for years, now I now why- necessity and comfort. They are super comfy, kind of like slippers for your ears. For cold climate shooting, these would be great. As someone who works in the other end of the extreme weather spectrum, I hope these offer some comfort as well. I would typically use these indoors under air conditioned comfort, I suspect they would act as sweatbands. It looks like there would be more air flow as well. Theres a nice selection of colors, even though they remind me of something that the aforementioned Starsky and Hutch character might wear. A great solution to a real problem, I'm digging them.

Nothing beats the Softies. Please don't look for alternatives available on Amazon (like I did), make a purchase, and then regret said purchase because of receipt of a substandard product. The softies stretch around studio ear cups perfectly. They are comfortable against the ear in both hot and cold weather. They can be washed (cold rinse and air dry, tho), and they also come in multiple pleasant colors. We originally purchased Softies when our Sony studio headphones flaked black residue on to our ears. Our original pairs have last multiple years, and now we've purchased more for some of our other headphones.

Mis-fitting

Received the softie earpad covers and to my surprise one of them seemed sized for a smaller earphone pad. Not sure whether these were packaged incorrectly. Needless to say, I'm not impressed with the quality of these earpads. Bought these for my girlfriend and after managing to fit the wrong sized earpad to the headphones; she was complaining that they got hot, if worn for more than 1 hour. Will not buy again.

I believe they would fin your Sennheiser 560s. They have a lot of stretch to them. I use them on my Audio-Technica BPHS1 headset and they work great.
