This A2007CB Avenger Mini Base for C-Stand has a 1 1/8" receiver and is designed to accept Avenger column risers of various sizes. It is constructed of black steel. The smaller footprint of this base enables the c-stand to be placed in crowded areas on the set. It may be used on its own as a very low stand with the addition of a stud adapter such as the E200.

Lets get he caveats out of the way first. The is a small base! If you are going to mounting something with significant weight, especially center-of-balance weight that moves off-center of the post, maintain awareness of of stability. Using a 600 watt light with a 4 foot softbox that is 6 foot in the air, you'll want either a different stand for that. Or double up with additional rigging to support the stand itself. Such as using a boom arm, knuckle, and duckbill to stabilize the stand with the table sitting beside it. Then sandbag however much you need. With that out of the way...... Right now I have only one of these bases as a test purchase. I now find a place for it in every shoot I am on. As I get the funds, I will buy another three of these to use as my standard stands. I am able to say that because more than half the time, 3/4 of my lights are under 4 pounds and under 5 feet in the air. And I still have my standard sized stands for larger, higher, heavier lighting setups. But for most of my setups, these bases are sufficient from a safety perspective. Now for what I like about these: --------- 1) These bases goes where other stands won't go: In alot of my shoots, I want to get a light deep into a room corner, behind a couch, between the bed and night stand..... it is surprising how many spaces this base fits in that a standard base will not. 2) Works fine with 40" posts: I've done this for mounting relatively light gear in a tight spot and still get up there and to avoid elaborate rigging or messing with the environment. Examples, flags and scrims, speedlights, pocket lights, microphones, cinefoil, and gels. 3) Portability: The 20" posts with these mini bases are much easier to carry to set on field shoots, and move around on set when compared to standard bases and 40" posts. I am more beat up at the end of a day of using the standard sized gear. It also packs in and out of an SUV alot easier. 4) Safety: I have noticed my feet kick and get tripped up less with these than full sized stands. Granted, in either case, doesn't happen often. But there is just less there to bump into. And while the short leg will not accept a 15 pound sand bag, I find both the medium and short legs do take the 5 pound sand bags just fine.
It's perfect for supporting smaller modifiers or strobes and it's small footprint helps if it's in a tight space. Avenger stands have never failed me, built solid and to last.
