Rolls HE18 BUZZ OFF Reviews
Great unit, solved computer video buzz problem
The Buzz Off solved a problem I was having with computer video noise getting into the output of a digital to analog converter fed from that computer via USB. Somehow the noise was getting into the audio ground via the USB connection. Connecting the Buzz Off in between the analog audio outputs of the DAC and the inputs of the amplifier feeding my speakers completely eliminated that noise. The Buzz off is very well made and I was really impressed with its "tank like" construction. Besides eliminating my noise problem it has no audible effect that I can discern on the audio quality. I ran some test tones through the unit, and its frequency response is very flat other than it being down about 1/2 dB at 20 Hz and about 1/4 dB at 20 KHz. This is a high quality unit that performs very well despite costing maybe 1/2 of what other, similar devices are selling for. Plus it gives you balanced 1/4" TRS inputs as well as 3.5mm TRS along with the RCA plug ins and outs, which some of those other units do not. I highly recommend the Buzz Off if you have a similar grounding/noise problem.
Reasonable Cost Performance Compromise
Tested it prior to installation, 60dB THD+N, Relatively flat frequency response but it had LF cutoff above 20Hz. It's not Jensen JT-11P transformer performance but it's also at a much lower cost than a pair of Jensen transformers.
