Dedolight DLH4 Overview

The DLH4 light head forms the core of the Dedolight Master 3-Light Kit. It's extremely compact, yet with its dual-lens concept, provides high light output. With a 150W lamp in the flood position, its light output is greater than a 300W Fresnel studio fixture. In the spot position, it equals or exceeds a 1000W Fresnel studio fixture. The specially designed lamps provide precision beam aim, coupled with long life expectancy.

Each light head is equipped with a power supply/control unit and a 150W lamp at a nominal voltage of 24V. Its AC power input is set for 117 AC voltage. Also included are stands, barndoors, bulbs, a flexible stand extension, an accessory box, clamps, a wall holder, and a hard case. Additional accessories include projection attachment, gobo holder, shutter blades, iris, glass, and gel filters for creative lighting effects.

Allows precise control over the spread of the light, with the iris and framing shutter blades

Accepts size "M" (66 mm) steel gobos (available separately) for projecting patterns onto your background or subject
Light-Shaping Devices
Kit includes barndoors, gel and glass conversion, and graduated neutral density filters to enable altering the shape, color, and intensity of the lights
Mounting Options
Wall holders, clamps, stand extensions, and vacuum mount
Powering Options
The DLH4 offers a wide range of powering options, from battery to AC power, with color temperature control
Mirror
A high-quality mirror reflects light through meniscus and condenser lenses, providing a much higher light output than would be expected
Advanced Optical Design
Due to an advanced optical design, these heads create a flat, even bright light, with a narrow beam spread
Clean Beam
Precision lighting by a clean beam means practically no stray light
Compact
The hard, compartmentalized case measures only 22.5 x 17 x 10.25"

I'm an event videographer and I mostly bring two of these to weddings. Receptions get dark and many times, the hall staff get their own creative ideas, which result in them turning off all the lights. PROS: - long, powerful throw of light - barn doors (sold separately) very effectively block light unlike other lights I use. No perceptible light spill! - light, compact and sturdy build CONS: - gets hot really fast and stays that way during operation. It's actually dangerous how hot it gets. - colour temperature seems to be basically the same on full intensive regardless of mode - all accessories are pricey

This dedo light is perfect for my needs. It's small yet powerful and has tons of throw. Highly recommended.

Is this light considered Flicker Free? I will be using a 300fps capable camera.

The Dedolight Universal Tungsten Spotlight without Cable - 100-150 Watts/12-24 Volts is not flicker free. At 300 frames per second your camera will introduce flicker.

How well would this work for lighting an event? If I had to light a wall 20ft tall from 50ft away would that work? If I was lighting from even farther away would this light work well or should I look for a different light?

No, it cannot light up the wall this distance.You may try another model. but for sure not this one.Good luck.

Yes, absolutely. I rarely use this light without the barn doors and gel clips. Definitely needed to shape the light.
