The DLH4 light head forms the core of the Dedolight Master 3-Light Kit. It's extremely compact, yet with its dual-lens concept, provides high light output. With a 150W lamp in the flood position, its light output is greater than a 300W Fresnel studio fixture. In the spot position, it equals or exceeds a 1000W Fresnel studio fixture. The specially designed lamps provide precision beam aim, coupled with long life expectancy.

Is this light considered Flicker Free? I will be using a 300fps capable camera.
The Dedolight Universal Tungsten Spotlight without Cable - 100-150 Watts/12-24 Volts is not flicker free. At 300 frames per second your camera will introduce flicker.

what is the best way to diffuse this light, is there a compatible sotfbox?
You would need to get a speed ring such as the Dedolight Mini Speed Ring Adapter for DLH4, 4P, DLH4M-300 (http://bhpho.to/2aWWg01) to use softboxes like the Impact Luxbanx Duo Medium Rectangular Softbox (24 x 32") (http://bhpho.to/2aYT2JJ)

question
How well would this work for lighting an event? If I had to light a wall 20ft tall from 50ft away would that work? If I was lighting from even farther away would this light work well or should I look for a different light?
I primarily use this light for events, but not to light walls. I use two of them and they work excellent for cross lighting a dance floor so that the dancing events and toast giver are well lit. As a spot light I would say their effective range is 70-80' and as a flood it's probably more like 40' max. You could certainly light a 20' area of a wall from 50' away with this but whether that will be bright enough for your purposes I have no idea. I don't think you would achieve the desired result if trying to light a large area from farther away than 50'. To give some scale reference, this light is not much bigger than an energy drink 20oz aluminum can. Hope that helps.

question
If I use this light at 20-30 feet away, should I buy 8 Leaf Barndoor Set with Gel Clips together? Are more accessories necessary for this light? Thank you so much!
Yes, absolutely. I rarely use this light without the barn doors and gel clips. Definitely needed to shape the light.

question
What kind of battery could power this and how long would it last in between recharges?
I don't think this light is a good choice for mobile lighting. I would choose the torch L.E.D.
