Whirlwind ISO2 Overview

The Whirlwind ISO-2 is a small, rugged 2-channel isolation box and line balancer. As an isolation unit, it may be used for isolating press and video feeds, or on-stage power amps, in broadcast or sound reinforcemnt applications, eliminating hum and buzz via ground lift switched and a dedicated channel 2 polarity reverse switch.

The ISO-2 also converts unbalanced lines from CD players, tape decks and other like devices, to balanced lines, facilitating long, noise-free cable runs.

This isolator sounds great. You cannot overload this thing. You feed it a higher and higher signal and there is not distortion! It is very rugged, no moving parts inside (so no rattle) and can easily handle a drop from 5 ft. The only downsides are the moderate weight (it's made out of metal) and the lack of a phase reverse switch for channel 1.

I connected this unit in between the mixer and the power amp but it DIDN'T eliminate the buzz in the speakers at all. Did I wire it in correctly?

Place the ISO-2 between the amp output and the speaker input.
