Giottos AA1920 overview

  • 1Description

The small black Giottos Rocket Blaster Dust-Removal Tool safely blows clean air to eliminate dust from sensitive or hard-to-reach surfaces, such as those on lenses, cameras, filters and keyboards. It is crafted from a durable silicone rubber that offers a virtually instantaneous rebound for a nearly continuous stream of clean air. Its long, thin nozzle features an opening designed to eliminate whistling, and can also be removed for cleaning. A one-way valve on the bottom brings in clean air and does not re-distribute dust. Additionally, the blaster stands up on its own and can be set on its side on a flat surface without rolling around.

Giottos AA1920 reviews

Rocket Blaster Dust-Removal Tool (Small, Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 159.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it should Does what it should and makes a GREAT dog toy (my dog LOVES it when i blow air in it's face (oddly enough) and, when you throw it it bounces in unpredictable ways which makes it really fun for the dog.) This review may seem inappropriate but, in all honesty, I bought the first rocket air blower for me but my dog took it over so I had to buy the second one as my dog took over the first. Other than a canine toy, the air blower is small enough to take on shoots and powerful enough to keep things clean. When it's not being used as a dog toy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've only ever used Giottos, and I have no reason to switch This is the second Rocket Blaster I've purchased (my first being the large size), and I'm totally happy with it. I keep the large one in the darkroom and this smaller one in the desk in my office for when I'm scanning. It's not a perfect replacement for compressed air (not as pressurized), but I also don't need to replace it nearly as often. I wouldn't advise using compressed air on negatives anyway, but if you're buying this to replace situations where you'd use compressed air, bear in mind that this won't do the job perfectly. However, it works in a pinch, as long as whatever you're cleaning isn't ridiculously dusty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does Its Job Good size to carry in a limited space camera bag. I have both the large and small Giottos Rocket Blasters. Giottos is the only brand that I will buy. I had bought another brand of an air blaster and the rubber smelled so bad, that I had to throw the thing away. I have used the Giottos Rocket Blasters for several years now. The product holds up well, and does its job.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dissapointed This item generates a fair amount of forced air but not as much as I'd expected. I certainly would not describe it as very powerful. I was surprised at how flimsy the rubber ball is as I'd thought the rubber would be a bit thicker. Being so thin makes it difficult to hold in place when being squeezed and so it moves around too much to aim it properly. One pretty much has to use two hands to hold it in place to properly aim it in the direction required. I'm on the fence about recommending this item. Probably would but with a caveat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing It is incredible the amount of air this small version produces. I can't imagine a situation that would require much more force than this one - although in order to get the full force you have to squeeze very hard and that does take away the accuracy. In those instances, I put the camera on my knees so I can hold the nozzle with one hand and squeeze with the other. For most dust and situations this is more than enough even with gentle squeezes. It is actually not all that small, but small enough to fit in a medium sized travel bag or sling. The only downside is that it smells very strongly of rubber. It gave my wife an asthma attack. So we keep it in a zip lock (that also keeps it clean in the camera bag) and if we need it, I do the cleaning.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Take a Rocket in your pocket The stronger, bigger Rocket Blower is unhandy for my belt pack or pocket, but camera surfaces need cleaning outdoors even more often, and wiping lenses or filters is even more dangerous outdoors. The somewhat weaker stream of the smaller, easier to pack small blower is adequate -- just takes a little longer to get the last specks sometimes. Given that a Rocket Blower is essential to keep with photographic equipment at all times, this one fills the outdoor niche.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from small but effective I bought this to replace my large rocket blaster I was carrying around in my small bag. I still use the large version with my thinktank backpack, but when I'm only carrying my Fuji body and a lens or two, this small one fits nicely into my messenger bag without too much bulk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Size & Packs a Punch This is way better then a hurricane blower that I got at my local chain camera shop. Definitely worth getting. I am considering getting the Medium size or Large size blower also. The small fits great in my bag, but it would be nice to have a bigger one at home.
