I don't see how the microphones mount on here?
You have to buy the screw-in mic holders seperately. I bought four mic holders in two different sizes, and two clothespin type clips that can hold smartphones for print reporters who want to record. the mount can hold six. I'm happy with it. (You also have to buy the mic stand to screw the mount into)

Can the unit be mounted to a podium?
What Justin said is accurate. The center opening is designed to screw directly into a microphone stand. If the podium in question has a standard threaded mic stand attached, then your answer is yes.
