The 49mm Digital Ultra Clear Water White Filter from Tiffen is a simple, clear filter designed for general protection for your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect the overall image quality while helping reduce dust, scratches, moisture, and other elements from damaging your lens. Its Water White glass construction is optically pure and maintains consistent light transmission and clarity.

Tiffen filters are made using ColorCore technology; a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting to precision metal rings.

Clear filter offers general protection for your lens against the elements.
Water White glass is optically pure for providing notable image fidelity and clarity.

Needed a protective filter for a lens with an exposed front element, primarily for indoor use. This works fine, can see some small reflections when strong lights are present but overall very clear. Thin, lightweight, smooth threads.

It does what it's supposed to do and it does it well

Well put together filter with a 10 year warranty, doesn't seem to scratch easily, what more can you ask for?

Do these filters have flaring? My other Tiffen ...

Do these filters have flaring? My other Tiffen flares majorly when there is a bright light in shot. Like a sun filled window.

I don't know about Sony lenses, but this has the standard threads (I put it on a Tamron 60mm macro lens) that work like my other filters on other lenses.. It should work unless Sony has differing threading.

This filter will fit any lens with a 82mm filter thread. When looking at your lens on the B&H website at https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1222774-REG/sony_sel2470gm_fe_24_70mm_f_2_8_gm.html please refer to the SPECS tab, where it lists the filter thread diameter as 82mm.
