Matthews Digital Baby Stand Reviews

I Won't Trust Anything Less When Using Expensive Lights

An outstanding stand when using heavy or expensive equipment. It's the right balance of weight (portability), footprint (stability), and height (versatility). I use it for an Aputure 600D. It's much more convenient if you can add the Matthews Budget Wheels.

It really weights 19.8pounds

This digital baby stand is absolutely the wrong weight. It’s not 13lb, it’s a 20lb stand per Matthew’s website and me holding it in person.

Will this be able to hold a 8' by 8' frame overhead?
Asked by: fernando
It can certainly hold the weight. No question. And if you're working in an environment with no wind, you're fine. But if you're outdoors with any wind, I'd consider their digital combo stand instead. It's stronger. At full extension these can get a little wobbly.

question

Is this stand made of steel or aluminum?
Asked by: Erick A.
Rick H is correct the vertical tubes and legs are steel. The castings that grip the tubes are aluminum. This is a ROBUST light stand but if you cantilever heavy strobes and modifiers (with ballast to prevent tipping), the vertical tubes will still bow a little.
