Fujinon 16330768 overview

  • 1Description

Among the world's great binoculars, Fujinon's Polaris series transmit an incredible >95% of the light reaching the binocular. They're coated, on every surface, with Fujinon's enviable EBC process for stellar images. Fogproof, nitrogen-purged performance assures that even through drastic temperature changes the glasses will stay clear internally. Simply the brightest, highest-resolution, lowest distortion binoculars money can buy.

The 10x50 FMTR-SX Polaris Binocular is specifically for the discerning sport optic user who demands the utmost quality, lowest distortion, and brightest image possible. The individual focus provides a great depth of field, useful when doing long-range visual surveys. The 10x50 FMTR-SX can also function as a compact astronomical binocular for viewing celestial bodies and accepts four Fujinon Polaris 1.7" eyepiece filters: UV/haze, polarizing, nebula, and solar.

Fujinon 16330768 reviews

10x50 FMTR-SX Polaris Binocular is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding for binocular astronomy As a binocular astronomer I enjoy looking at open clusters, Milky Way star fields, and the bino-accessible galaxies and nebulae. These Fujinon 10X50s give me some of the best views of the night sky that I've ever seen. The field of view is wide without distortion problems, even near the edges. Eye relief is very comfortable, even if you wear glasses. Light transmission of this glass is excellent. I suspect it can pick up fainter stars than lesser glasses with more aperture. Star images are pinpoints throughout the field, and colors are true-- no false color was evident around a nearly full Moon. Mechanically these binoculars are about as bulletproof as it gets. I suspect they'll outlive me. The only potential downside is their weight-- they're heavy-- but since I like to use a lawn recliner with arms for my star watching weight isn't an issue for me. This isn't my first Fujinon (I've owned the 7X50, the 10X70 and the 14X70) and although they've all been excellent, this one's probably the most useful all-round astronomy glass I've ever had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compared my 10x50 FMTR-SX to the Zeiss Victory FL 10x56 For one third the price of the Zeiss, the Zeiss owner and I agreed that the only slightly noticeable differences were: 1. Zeiss has slightly better resistance to stray light at night. 2. Zeiss had slightly better color rendition at night. Daytime viewing differences were negligible- both outstanding. The Fujis are an absolute winner at their price point and very, very close to the big Zeiss Victory FL. No differences in the quality of construction- both are built like tanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent!!! wide field of view and low distortion, sharp edge to edge, sharp & bright image with high contrast, Very high depth of field (slight tune only beyond 20m), long eye relief and IDP range, ergonomic However It's bulky & heavy, the eye caps quite loose, come with no case

Rated 5 out of 5 by from heavy Built like a tank. Want clear, sharp, images? Delivers. . View makes you not mind the weight compared to lighter roof prisms. Makes looking through my Nikon Monarch 7's a definite step down in optical performance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic unit Wide field Good image quality on most of field of view No astigmatism Bright clear optics Very good build quality Perfect collimation

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built for a few lifetimes These glasses let in a huge about of light. Focus and viewing are incredible. Very high quality commercial grade Binoculars. One problem is, you aren't going to bring these to a football game. They Weigh about 3 pounds and are fairly large.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent product very sharp images

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks good Would probably be 5 stars, but the item is green, where the picture looks black, a minor thing. The major thing, there was grass trimming in the box, so a returned product sold as new? I will report back.
