What are people using for a tripod mount? I do not see mention of a 1/4-20 thread mount on the binoculars.
Asked by: Jim
The mounting screw is in between the two binocular tubes. You will see a small plastic cap covering the mounting screw looking from the objective end. Then you can use the Nikon Binocular Tripod Adapter that can be found on the B&H website by using the part number B&H # NIMATA.

My concern is that even though they are fog and waterproof optics blowing sand may get into the focusing mechanism.

question

what is the frame made of ?
Asked by: Anonymous
There is a waterproof rubber coating. Underlying materials must be metal. Very sturdy and strong. Great optical quality for astronomy. Only negative is that some users might find them heavy. I think they are manageable hand held; sometimes use unipod or tripod.
