So I just got my Quantum Instruments Turbo SC Battery Pack...I bought it to aide my Canon EL-1 speedlite.
Was that a mistake?
I connected it to the Speedlite and it did not power on the Speedlite... I need to find out if my EL-1 Speedlite also needs to have the battery inside it, too? even though it's connected to a flash Quantum Instruments Turbo SC battery pack? Does anyone know for sue?
Thanks
Yes you need a battery inside the flash unit for it to work. The quantum battery pack just shortens the recycle time.

Can I use this with my Vivitar 283 or Sunpak 544? If so, which cables do I need?
This isn't an answer, this another question. You say you don't have cables for Vivitar 283 or Sunpak 544, What if I already have older cables for both these flashes. Will they still work?

Hello does this work with the quantum QT flash?
It would depend on the specific model Quantum Instruments flash you own as to how you would connect your flash to the Quantum Instruments Turbo SC Battery Pack. If you own one of the Quantum Instruments Qflash TRIO flashes (which have a removable power cable), if you no longer have the original power cable, you may purchase and connect the Quantum Instruments CQ2 Power Cable for Turbo Series Battery Packs & Qflash Trio Flash Units, B&H # QUCQ2, to the power socket on your flash, and connect the other end to the power socket on the Turbo SC Battery Pack. If you are referring to the Quantum Qflash T5Dr, as it has a built-in power cable, you would connect the T5Dr's power cable to the power socket on the Turbo SC Battery Pack.

Will my older Vivitar 283 and Sunpak 544 cable work with turbo SC?
To use the Quantum Instruments Turbo SC Battery with the Vivitar 283 you would need the Quantum CV2 cable. For the Sunpak 544 you would need the Quantum CS5 cable. Both of those cables are no longer made.
