The Sony Sony RM1BP Remote Commander offers more control than many other LANC controllers, such as Zoom direction and speed. However, there are alternate controllers that are more budget friendly from Libec to consider.

As of Dec 2022, this remote commander RM1BP (with adapter cables) will not work with the AX700 or the Z90.

I'm looking into this for my FS-7 with Sony E4/PZ 18-110 g OSS lens. Anybody use the RM-1BP with this setup? If so, is it a perfectly smooth zoom, start to stop?
It may not work. If the lens is not a servo lens, it won't work. The RM1BP works with the FS5 kit lens, 18-105.

As per Sony's website, that port is "For connecting the camcorder and a peripheral. You can control the camcorder, such as recording movies, with that device." Having said that, if that port isn't a 2.5" (micro?) port, the remote Commander might not work. The RM1BP unit connects to the camera's LANC port. I don't know if the AX-700 "REMOTE jack" label on its body refers to a LANC port.

Unfortunately no cable adapter is made. That is to go from LANC to The Sony Multi-terminal.

No it will not. The AX53 does not have a LANC port instead it has "Multi-Terminal". Consider this as an alternative:
