Whirlwind MT-12-F-M-50 Overview

This blue Whirlwind Medusa Multitrack 12 Channel XLR Male to XLR Female Snake Cable is constructed of multipair cable with a heat-shrunk fanout at each end. The cabling consists of heavy-duty yet flexible Belden CM rated multipair cable. Each pair contains two twisted 24GA 7x32 polyethylene insulated conductors with 100% foil shield and 24GA drain wire. The fanouts feature XLR connectors and all channels are numbered.

Snake cables make it possible to combine several balanced cables into one smaller diameter multipair cable, making setup and teardown much faster and easier, with less tangling and clutter than would otherwise be the case.

Fanouts with multiple layers of rugged heat shrink at the most critical points.
Fanouts feature Whirlwind connectors with engraved numbers.

Good, but 8 channels not 12

As one other reviewer noted, this product is indeed only 8 channels (as shown in the picture) and not 12 (as currently stated in the title). However, if 8 channels is what you need, then this is a pretty good snake. We've had it for a bit over a year and there's been no issues with it. We've even shipped it across the country a few times and its held up just fine. Feels sturdy and has clear labels on each of the connectors.

I ordered this based on the title but when it came it only had 8 channels like the picture. I thought the picture was used from another product because sometimes the pictures look the same, just like it looks the same no matter what length you are ordering.

Why was it only 8 channels when I ordered it instead of 12 channels as advertised?

If you ordered a 12-channel snake, the model number would be MT-12-F-M-50. An 8-channel version would be MT-8-F-M-50.
