The Nikon FSB-5 Non-SLR Digital Photo Adapter allows digiscoping with compatible Coolpix S-series digital camera models and fixed magnification MC series or DS series Fieldscope eyepieces. Fabulous results can be expected.
It is recommended that you digiscope with the newer DS Series eyepieces, as they have a wide, unobstructed eyepiece path and a far lesser chance of vignetting. When using the 27x/40x/50x or 40x/60x/75x DS eyepieces, you will not need any additional attachments beyond this bracket. When using the 16x/24x/30x DS eyepiece, you will need to use the bracket in conjunction with the included FSBR-5 adapter ring, which provides some additional spacing to properly position the camera/eyepiece combination.
If you are using FSBR-5 with the MC Series eyepieces, you will need to purchase, additionally, the #6952 FSA-1 & 2 Non-SLR Photo Adapter. The FSB-5 adapter is not compatible with older eyepieces without a helicoid-type eyecup.
As with all digiscoping efforts, you'll need a sturdy tripod with a video-type pan/tilt head as well as a cable release or remote control for your camera. Logical choices for a tripod/head combination are indicated here as accessories.
