Impact FL500 reviews

Tungsten Two-Floodlight Kit with 6' Stands is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 53.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worth the cheap $ I was slightly surprised at what I received for the $$. Only really lacking was a case to transport. The light housings are actually decent considering the wood insulator. They feel better than some name brand plastic ones I have used. Stands are just shy of comparable to the good Lowell ones for $ . The reflectors are fairly durable feeling even with the umbrella hole in them. The umbrellas, I think are worth the price alone. It came with 2x 250W but I will get a lower set as well as they were too bright for some uses. Some mentioned they get hot...well yes, tungsten/quartz get hot...just remember to let them cool down before packing.Overall all, I would recommend a set, but a travel bag would be nice!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from What a bargain! We bought these in conjunction with the diffuser screens and a backdrop for taking shots for our magazine, and I am EXTREMELY pleased with their performance. These are NOT high end lights, but at 250 watts each, they provide enough lighting for my needs, and all at a very reasonable cost. These are tungsten-based, so you have to white balance your camera, but that takes only a minute and you are off and running. Another feature is that i thought these extended up to 6 feet, but in reality it's more like 8-9 feet, so it's easy to get lighting above your subject. These are also portable and easy to use. I wish the bases were larger, just because I'm afraid they'll fall over, but they are still pretty stable. Alo, of course, these get HOT, so be careful! Ultimately, it's hard to argue with the cost. Makes a great primary or good backup setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Beginner Equipment I use these lights for both video and photography and they work great. They're bright and durable and very easy to set up and break down. The only thing I wish it came with was some sort of storage bag or something just to help insure that they don't break, but I don't see that happening as long as you treat them like you would any other piece of equiment. For the price, this is a great product, especially for people just starting out and learning the basics of lighting in photography and videography.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything and Then Some Studio/outdoor portrait photography Great price...Small, but sturdy base However, has a semi-short power cord, and I had to buy seperate umbrella mounts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just What I Needed I purchased the tungsten two-floodlight kit with 6' foot stands to photograph my artwork. Using these two lights only, set on either side of the artwork at 45 degrees allowed me to get great shots from which quality art prints can be made. Setup was incredibly easy, however, the switch on one of the lights quit working almost immediately, quite a disappointment, but something I can replace more easily than repackaging and returning the light. All said, I'd buy them again and definitely from B&H.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a bad value for the price I needed some light for jewelry photos and I have always been happy with my Impact products in the past, so I tried this one. Stand construction is ok and the light brackets are as well. The supplied bulbs we a disappointment as one of the two burned out in less than 2 minutes of use. So buy backup bulbs if you get this and get the more expensive brands as they last longer.
