Anyone have any idea why this plate does not work ...
Anyone have any idea why this plate does not work with my Black Magic Ursa shoulder mount? The mount slides in nicely but not seem to go far enough to trigger the pin which locks the plate. I don't see any adjustments that can be made to either the mount or the plate that would remedy this.
Thanks for your concern. I've gone on to the Black Magic Forum and several people are having the same problem. One guy reported that 3 out of 4 of his VCTs don't work, and I tried both of mine and neither work. I've ordered another Black Magic Shoulder Mount and a brand new VCT-14 to see if that will work. I also ordered a CAME-TV mount and their version of the VCT to see if that will work better. Will report results later.

What's the difference(s) between this plate and Sony's VCT-U14?
The VCT-14 plate is made mostly of metal, while a VCT-U14 has more plastic integrated in to the system. The VCT-14 is the more durable in design and made out of higher quality materials.

Hi all: will the plate work with a Sony FS7 out of the box like the old Sony BVW600s, or do I need additional pieces for the FS7? Thanks!
You need to get a vct baseplate. Sony makes one for the FS7. I went with the Vocas one for its expandability.
