Can the hotshoe at the top be removed? If so what's under there? I hoping for a female thread that I can screw my light into.
Asked by: Brian
The hotshoe can be removed because it has a hole in it that screws on to a male thread on the bracket.

Hi. Does this system damage the umbrella shaft? Its made of this sort of light metal which is hollow, and using the swivel ive noticed there are bumps inwards on the shaft once i remove it. How to avoid damaging the shaft while using these? Thanks!
Asked by: Anonymous
Try not to overtighten the thumb screw. Slight pressure will generally hold an umbrella in just fine.

question

Is the hole that accepts the umbrella at any slight angle? Some umbrelly brackets do, so the flash hits the center of the umbrella. Based on the pictures, it seems like the whole is drilled straight, so any flash would hit off center.
Asked by: Joseph Flores
Definitely straight. Dispersion is dependent on the size and shape of your umbrella of course, not to mention alternative ways to mount your flash(es).
