The EAGLE-4-16 Combination Switcher Package from FSR is a combination kit that features (4) Eagle 200/HD Seamless Video Switchers & (1) Pathfinder PFD-16X16-RGB Matrix Switcher.
Eagle 200/HD
The Eagle 200/HD is a professional video switcher designed to seamlessly switch multiple video signal types, among other features and functions. It can switch between (8) analog video, (2) SD/HD-SDI, and (2) DVI video feeds. The enhanced output card on this model provides a second output with user-selectable resolution, identical to the first standard output, to offer more flexibility in your production and workflow.
Traditional scalers are typically limited to switching between two full screen sources, which doesn't allow one switcher to incorporate special effects from another source. But the Eagle 100/HD addresses this limitation by using scaled and native resolution inputs and a layered architecture.
This unit's layered approach allows you to build your program output piece by piece. The deepest layer is the background layer, which is derived from the DVI input or can be set to your color of choice. This layer allows computer-generated content to be displayed without bogging down the scaler. Above this layer is the scaler level, which derives its input from any of the analog or SDI inputs. It can be set as full-screen, picture-in-picture, or key.
The next layer is the DSK (down stream key) layer, which derives its input from the DVI input and is a key on top of the other layers. The DSK layer is commonly used to display text, graphics, or lower thirds over a full-screen video. The next layer is the logo layer. This is the top layer and derives its source from up to (3) logos that can be stored in the Eagle switcher itself and can be recalled at any time. The logos are essentially frame captures of the scaler layer and can be stored in temporary or non-volatile memory.
Picture-in-picture displays can be of any size and edge settings include soft effects, user defined borders, or drop shadows. The picture-in-picture position and size are also user-defined and can even be animated to produce more compelling effects. This model has a true 10-bit luminance key, giving the user full control over clip, gain, opacity, and fill source. The switcher also includes integrated rack ears, make it equally well suited for standalone desktop or rackmount placement.
Pathfinder PFD-16X8-RGB
The PFD-16x16-RGB Pathfinder 16x8 RGBHV Matrix Switcher from FSR is a matrix switcher designed for use with RGB video signals. It features (16) inputs and (8) outputs. The system is designed to provide flat signals and adequate bandwidth to all connected components to ensure optimum fidelity. This switcher is well suited for use in video conference rooms, educational facilities, control rooms, monitoring centers, and government institutions, among many other possible applications. The Pathfinder offers split-mode switching technology, which permits each color channel to be independently switched. This feature also allows the switcher to perform the duties of several units and ensures that its switching capabilities will not become obsolete as video types and resolutions are upgraded in the future. Control of the unit can be managed via an ASCII command set that will provide complete access to all functions via compatible control systems. Moreover, the switcher includes both RS-232 and IP control ports. This unit may be used as a standalone device, but has also been designed for placement in a standard 19" rack.
