I have the Ziess 18mm f/3.5 for nikon which i use for landscapes. Can I use this viewfinder as a composition finding tool. For example instead of taking my camera and lens to frame up compositions can I just take this and get the same view, and be comfortable the shot would look the same when taken with the 18mm lens
The Zeiss Z1 Viewfinder is designed to work with the Zeiss Ikon Camera and will not work with a Nikon camera.

Is there a magnification difference between the 15, 18, and 21mm finders? In other words, could I frame an 18 by going outside the framelines on a 21mm finder or get 15mm by going outside the lines on an 18mm finder?
Yes, there is a difference in the perspective in the ZEISS ZI Viewfinders, between the 25/28, 15, 18 and 21mm.
