Can I attach this to the background stands that I already own or does it only work with Manfrotto stands?
I used my own stands. I’d just make sure that they are pretty decent quality and not the real cheap, thin aluminum kind. These hooks are pretty beefy and will easily dent and bend lower quality stands.

The slots on the 045-6 are about 1 inch wide. However, they are only designed to fit the slotted tabs on a Manfrotto Expan Drive.

Can this be used with 3 vinyl backdrops instead of paper backdrops? I think the vinyl ones are heavier than paper so concerned that the brackets won't hold up.
