Aluratek aptly describes this black 15" Hi-Res Digital Picture Frame as a Digital Lifestyle Device. This frame's features allow it to bridge the gap between a digital camera and a home computer. Both can remain off as the digital frame shows off images. A user can copy images into the frame's 4GB of internal memory from either a digital camera memory card inserted in the frame's SD/SDHC slot, or from a USB cable linked to a PC/Mac/Linux computer. Alternatively, the frame can slideshow images directly from a memory card, and can display photo, video, or audio files. It can be mounted on a flat surface like a desktop or mantle with an included stand, or simply hung on a wall.

Aluratek ADMPF315F Reviews

Internal memory does not connect to Mac

**Internal memory is effectively unusable with a Mac** I purchased three of these 15-inch Aluratek frames with the intention of loading an MP4 video into the internal memory and having it play without an external USB drive attached. Unfortunately, I could not get the frames to mount as a usable drive on a Mac. I tested all units using the USB cable supplied with each frame and connected them directly to an older Mac Pro with built-in USB-A ports. In both cases, the frames immediately displayed a full-screen “Connecting to computer” message, but no drive ever appeared in Finder or Disk Utility. I also tested the connection with a newer MacBook using a USB-C adapter, with the same result. Since each frame behaved identically with its included cables, this appears to be a compatibility or firmware problem rather than a defective individual unit. There is also no apparent way to copy files from a USB drive or SD card into the frame’s internal memory through the frame’s menus. The frame will play an MP4 directly from a USB drive, but that requires leaving the drive inserted. The recessed and narrow port area also makes larger thumb drives awkward to install. The screen and video playback work, but the advertised internal-memory transfer feature did not work with either of my Macs. Mac users who intend to use the internal storage should be aware of this limitation and may need to rely on a small USB drive or memory card instead.

The photos display very nicely on this frame and it has other options.

question

(1) What are the transition modes, as a sequence of photos is run? (I'd prefer to have a fade-out, fade-in.)(2) If I have a series of JPGs loaded, will it repeatedly cycle through them until it's turned off, or do I need to restart it for each cycle?(3) Is the interval (time before a picture changes) adjustable? If not, how long is a picture displayed?
