The Pelican 1495CBI Computer Bottom Insert is an insert made to hold a laptop computer securely inside a Pelican 1495 series case it is a replacement for the insert supplied with a 1495CC! or 149CC2 case. The laptop insert has an L-shaped foam piece and a touch fastener strap to hold laptop secure.

Not a great use of the space. Its better than foam but I wish I bought a different case all together.
The shock absorbing tray keeps my macbook pro 17 well protected in my pelican 1495 case. The part the computer goes into, with the Velcro strap is a little bit too big for a 17 mac book pro. I would like it better if it fit a little better but it is still fine. The can definitely hold some bigger laptops that are thicker that 17 MBPs. The accessories puch that comes with it for the side could be a bit bigger but it does fit the MBP charger if you put it a certain way and wrap the wire part up under one of the straps inside the zipper pouch. Overall, I think it is worth it to have if you want to be able to carry accessories in the case as well as your laptop.
