Despite this being a digital-capture world (and yes, I am a part of it), I shot film for a few decades and still enjoy using it on occasion. Tiffen's deep yellow #15 filter makes virtually all black and white pictures look better than anything.
Whiie I use a number of contrast filters for B&W film, the Tiffen #15 is the first I go with. Usually have one on each lens. Provides just the right amount of contrast with a wide variety of subjects.
To increase contrast in land/skyscape photos. Tiffen offers good quality at reasonable prices. I've been using they're filters for years.
Bought this for my daughter for her B&W photography college couarse. It gives amazing, balanced contrast without being too stark. Fits right between the lighter K2 yellow and the more pronounced contrast of the orange filters. Tiffen glass and construction seems to be of good quality. Priced lower than other brands. Put this on your film SLR lens instead of the protective UV glass and leave it there.
