- For CG2 Powerseeker/CG3 AstroMaster EQ
The Celestron Motor Drive for AstroMaster Telescopes has a variable speed motor, which can accurately track celestial objects. This single axis drive works on equatorial mounts and allows you to maintain total control over your scope whether automatically or manually. Hemisphere control (north/south) is controlled by a switch. Depending on weather conditions, the 9V battery will last up to 40 hours.

question
Does it keep the object in frame for long periods of timefor astrophotography? if not how long does it keep perfectly centered for? and it is compatible with the Celestron Astromaster 130 EQ?
It (or any other drive) is only as accurate as your polar alignment. The tracking speed is adjustable and requires a lot of attention to match earth rotation. This item is great for amateur stargazers, but serious astrophotography, forget it.
