Do I have to take the seamless off the cardboard ...
Do I have to take the seamless off the cardboard and then roll it back onto the pole? Or does the pole go inside the cardboard? I have the 10 x 20 foot vinyl seamless.
You would not have to remove the cardboard core as this Alu-Core will slip inside of it.

Kirk is right about the holders but you could drill new holes. However I will say, I’ve no idea how strong it would be if only supported at the ends.

I have purchased three of these to use with ...
I have purchased three of these to use with Savage seamless rolls, and installed them, on a wall mount - but when I roll them the metal tube and the cardboard core dont have enough friction, so they move independently of each other and therefore completely unravel the paper - any suggestions?
I have used Alu core in 9 and 12 versions, we use inexpensive draw pads that are like textured rubber used to keep things from sliding around, we wrap the ends of the Alu core securing with gaffer tape, works very well, your core will no longer slip on the cardboard core

No, the Manfrotto 047-3 Alu-Core for Uncored Paper or Cloth - 12' (3.6 m) can not be used taken apart and half used with the vairdrives.
