The manufacturing specs for proper fit for 19 rack units should be easy but they missed the mark with this builder

This is a sturdily build drawer at a great price. I use it to haul all kinds of odds and ends in my mixer/gig rack and it does a great job.

Are these full extensions drawers? Does the entire depth of the drawer protrude beyond the units face?

According to Odyssey's website the drawer's Interior Dimensions are: 15.75" W x 15" D x 6.75” H. The height, in particular, seems unlikely. Can you confirm the interior dimensions? Thanks!

We do not have access to one to take an actual measurement, but it is a 4U drawer, and 1U = 1.75", which totals 7", so the 6.75" interior seems accurate.

what is usable depth of this drawer? My item is 14.1 inches on shortest side

The depth of the drawer is 14 inches and the width is 19 inches. It cannot hold an item that requires a depth of 14.1 inches.

Does the door lock into place when it is shut, without having to lock it? I don't want it opening when I move it.

Hey there. I have mine mounted in a stationary rack. It does have a latching mechanism that you have to push down upon to unlatch it and open it. I'm pulling on mine now and can't open it without engaging the latch. However, the only caveat is that it works well for me in a stationary rack. I'm not sure how it would do being moved around. But it's sturdy so I think it'd probably work.
