poor choice of materials

Our second replacement in ~5 yrs. Hard plastic used in center (where adjustable extensions meet) tends to break in the cold and when tripod folded if adjustment screws not fully loosened. Metal construction would be a better choice.

This is a must have for the Manfrotto tripods. This is so much more stable than the mid-spreader that comes with it. Very easy to swap.
Tripod spreader for Vinten

I bought this spreader to use with a set of Vinten single stage carbon fiber legs and a Vision 10 LF head. It's a perfect fit, collapses attached to the legs, and is about one-third the cost of the comparable Vinten product. Probably not rugged enough for intense everyday use (like shooting news), but otherwise does the job. Very satisfied.

B&H # MA165 is for tripods with rounded rubber/plastic feet pads, B&H # MA165MV is for tripods with spiked feet.

Will this fit on a Sachtler 75 tripod (uses a SP75 spreader)?
We can only recommend the Sachtler spreader, as the Manfrotto spreader may not securely attach or be of the proper spread diameter for a Sachtler tripod.

How do you place the tripod feet into the ground tripod spreader?
There is an indent on the spreader that the tripod feet can go into. My tripod feet had a small area that the rubber holder on the spreader could be pulled up and attached, holding the tripod legs down on the spreader.
