    Manfrotto 323 RC1 reviews

323 RC2 System Quick Release Adapter with 200PL-14 Plate is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 417.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from does not work with Manfrotto Monopod I bought a Manfrotto 681 monopod and looking for a quick release adapter to put on. The quality of the 323 RC is nice, a typical Manfrotto quality. However, the bummer is that the pivot of the release lever extrude downwards, and it INTERFERE with the said monopod. To me, this is an disaster. I cannot believe that a product from the same company is interfering with it's own associated product. If not with the problem, I will give it 5 stars. The interference takes 3 stars off, technically it can take 5 all. However, guess I'll find another non-Manfrotto monopod for it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from design, design, and design ... in order to show you what the INTERFERENCE between Manfrotto 323 RC and Manfrotto 681 Monopod, see the attached photo. There is significant gap between the plates that cannot be great if you use Manfrotto 323 with Manfrotto 681. To solve the problem, I found Oben QRA-R2,which works perfectly with the Manfrotto 681 monopod. Highly recommend NOT to get the Manfrotto copy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What were they thinking? I like the RC2 quick release system, have another RC2 ballhead and several 200PL-14 plates. I bought this to mount on my Manfrotto 468MG ballhead but the pin (on the underside) for the lever interferes with the mounting plate on the ball head. It also interferes with the plates on my Gitzo & Manfrotto monopods as well as the plate on my Gitzo 2541 tripod(if I remove the ballhead.) I put a large washer beneath it to provide some spacing but there is very little thread contact for the mounting screw. If the adapter was made 2mm thicker it would work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great with my window mount! I use this on my window mount and it works great. It was difficult to find a mount and plate that would work on my window mount AND my tripod. It works well together - I have a Vortex Pro GT tripod and a Vortex window mount. I really like Manfrotto products, but the mounts are slight different even though they are standard. The Manfrotto and Vortex mounts are slightly different even though they are standard. The mounting plate that came with the tripod is more secure, but the Manfrotto adapter works well even though it isn't as stable. For example, a brisk wind is a bit of a problem, but it is negligible. I recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! What to say about a quick release adapter... It comes with a removable bushing in the base mount so you can put it on either a 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 screw mount, making it very flexible. Just don't lose that bushing! I bought this because I already have a Manfrotto tripod that this is compatible with. So this can get swapped around at will between my 2 camcorders and audio recorder. I bought this specifically for mounting a Sony PCM-D50 Audio Field Recorder onto a RODE DS-1 Desk Stand. It works perfectly for me recording either Sunday Church Service or Family History audio.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dissapointed I bought this for my Manfrotto 679B monopod, and it does not fit! The small hex head screw that that retains the spring loaded locking bar in place protrudes from the bottom surface. This fouls on the mounting surface of the monopod meaning the adapter will not screw on. The only option is to grind down the edge of the plastic mounting surface on the monopod, which is what I ended up doing. This was my only option, as I wanted the same quick change adapter as used on my Manfrotto tripod, so everything is interchangeable. Come on Manfrotto, think about making your various products compatible without forcing your customers to break out the Dremel.Other than that, its perfectly functional, albeit a bit heavy

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I think I'll get a couple more of these! I use the Manfrotto 200 PL plate on all my stuff, and love it to death. Alas, not all my mounts are equipped for the Manfrotto 200PL. This adapter fixes that. I just installed one on a Opteka Steadyvid Pro, allowing me to pop the camera off without messing up the balance or removing my existing mounting plate. The reason I did not give this 5 stars is that it has a little lock on a back corner that protrudes down. This required me to get some washers and make up a longer 1/4-20 mounting screw for the stabilizer, in order to set the adapter up higher. This is not hard to rig, but it would be just dandy if the adapter anticipated this need and came with a spacer and spare screw or two, or they listed them as you may also like.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy I would give it 5 stars, but because the quick release w/200PL-14 plate didn't work well with the Manfrotto monopod I ordered it for, I have to drop it to 4 stars. The camera base on the monopod is very wide, which is great for just a camera, but the QR adapter isn't wide enough to clear the base. The lever screw on the bottom of the QR plate was firm against the monopod base making it hard to open and close the QR mechanisim... Nearly defeating the purpose. Just holding/playing with the QR plate in my hand I know it'd be great on a smaller base. The lever snaps shut quickly and opens smoothly. Manfrotto might want to make their products play nicely together in the future.
