I'm pretty sure that the 323 has a 3/8-16 threaded hole but you can screw in the 1/4-20 adapter that should come with the 323.

Will this mount work placed directly on Manfrotto 290 Carbon Fiber Monopod? Will the base of the monopod (on which you screw the plate or head) not collide with components of this plate?

I own and use these on numerous setups from directly to the camera to camera brackets, monopods, tripods, Fluid heads. They work great, are interchangeable, easily purchased in sets or separately as needed.

Does this work with the Joby Gorillapod 3k? Would I place it on top of the head or what?
Asked by: Mjt
The Manfrotto base attaches to any support device via a 1/4"-20 thread (support = male thread, base = female). A thread converter insert can be removed (w/flat tip screwdriver) from the base to accommodate a larger 3/8"-16 screw. If your Gorillapod has a ball head attached, just unscrew the ball head and screw on the Manfrotto quick release. If your Gorillapod is the "basic" w/o a head, just screw the quick release base on the 1/4"-20 flat mount provided.
