Manfrotto 410PL overview

  • 1Description

The Manfrotto 410PL Quick Release Plate is a low profile plate for the RC4 quick release system. It is larger than Manfrotto's standard RC2 system's plate, and it comes supplied with both 1/4"-20 and 3/8" threaded screws. Its screw travels along a 2" grooved slot, to better accommodate professional cameras of different dimensions.

Replaces old part number 3271.

    Manfrotto 410PL reviews

410PL Quick Release Plate - for RC4 Quick Release System is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 109.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent I am a pro cinematographer and have many tripods, sliders and cameras that all have different mounts. I bought enough of these to use on all of my equipment and they work great. Solid, no flex and a simple snap into place and one click disconnect. I am on and off a tripod a lot and wanted something that I could mount with one hand, hear a click and know it was solid. This does the job. I did not want a slide mount that you also had to tighten a screw after mounting. One click and you are ready to go. I also use a slider stood on end that I acts as a small jib. This is a huge strain on the mount but these little mounts handle it with no problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and Easy Snap I have an RC808 head for which I ordered an additional release plate. I keep one release plate attached to my camera and the other to the lens ring of my Sigma 150mm macro lens. This way, it is a snap to change the lens. The best thing about this release plate design is that you don't have to fiddle with clamping the camera on the tripod. You slide the straight edge of the release plate into the head on the tripod and press to snap it tight. You should remember, however, not to close the lever on the head once the release plate is out of the head. Twice, I have made that mistake and got frustrated about putting the camera on the tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these! I use these with all my DSLRs, rigs, Tripods, Slider, Monopod, etc.. basically everything. I shoot mainly video so having the ability to have my 5D3 mounted securely on a shoulder rig and be able to easily pop it off and onto a slider or a steadicam in seconds is priceless. Originally thought these might be too large but I feel the size is perfect for the above. You don't have to reach under the camera to release it, the release lever is right on the side of the camera. Also, It snaps in very securely. I've held my 7D out the door of a speeding vehicle from the end of a monopod knowing it was secure. I have about 6 now!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I'm In The Minority It is okay when used on a camera body, but attached to a long lens foot it twists and pulls the rubber pad up. Tightening makes it worse and it makes a mess of the padding. (See photo) I have four of these attached to cameras and lenses and all will occasionally become jammed on the head so tight that pulling the release lever takes extreme effort and I have had thoughts that is was not going to release. It was recommended that I keep one attached to each camera/ lens for convenience however when hand holding, the plate is too large and one sharp corner just about cuts into my hand. I have always used Manfrotto and find that they are great value for the price. I'm disappointed in this item though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid construction, good price = great I have the Manfrotto 410 Junior Geared Head and this a good addition; to save time moving one plate from lens to lens (or camera).Having both 1/4 and 3/8 screws is usefull for those heavy lens/camera/accessory combinations. Especially vintage gear.Used the head without the extra plate during the transit of Venus; no time to switch to another lens; cloudy day had small (short) clear parts of sky. When the Solar eclipse in Cairns (N. Queensland) happens in November 2012, I'll be able to swap lenses or cameras very quickly if necessary. This gear is a little pricey, compared to other brands, but oh so worth it; for the overall reliability and functionality.Overall, excellent product and reasonable value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bogen/Manfrotto 410PL I own several of these and they work great. It forms a wide stable base. It is low profile. I keep one with every camera I use with 410 gear head. This quick release system forms a hinge and you gently bring them together to lock them together. Of the 4 quick release systems I use this one is by far my favorite

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does its job well Very secure mounting. Two screws provided -- 1/4 and 3/8 -- is a plus. Can be tricky to put on the head sometimes with a large camera (Mamiya RZ67), better with a DSLR.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Firm Footing ! I count myself lucky to have and use the wonderful newly designed Manfrotto 808RC4 tripod head. An outstanding product. But I hasten to add that the icing on the cake is the 410PL RC4 Quick Release plate. This plate is no delicate little princess that perches gingerly on the tripod head. It's big and strong, and locks into place with all the certainty and sound effects of the steel barred gates of prison (as seen on TV). ;-) Like the 808RC4, the QR plate is beautifully made, and has a large base - quite suitable for my large format field cameras. The lock/release lever is muscular, and it has a fool proof double action lever, guarding against accidental release. If you have more than one camera, it is quite economically priced and you will be more than delighted when each of your cameras has its own plate fitted, and you hear that solid 'kerlunk' as the plate engages the head when you move from one camera to another. This is a good plate, for a good system.
