The Manfrotto 131DD Tripod Accessory Arm for Four Heads mounts onto the center column of tripods with 3/8" threads. The platforms feature 3/8" screws, which allows a standard tripod head to be mounted on either or both sides. In addition, the horizontal bar features 3/8" screws on both ends, allowing mounting of tripod heads from the sides.

Could this fit safely on a manfrotto befree (weight limit around 8lbs)? Or is there a safe weight limit?
The befree supports 17lbs, so it should be ok.

will this work for a canon fx 300 video camera or is it designed for smaller dslrs?
As long as your camcorder has 3/8 -16 female tripod sockets to connect the camera to the Manfrotto 131DD Tripod Accessory Arm (or you will be using a tripod head on the threads to convert to the smaller 1/4 -20 threads, and as long as the tripod can support the weight of the arm and the camcorders you wish to connect to the arm, it should be compatible for your usage needs.

The photo shows the arm with two heads but no heads come with the arm, what is the part number for the heads? Are the heads for attaching cameras have 1/4 20 threads screws?

can this arm work with other tripods such as Sunpak tripod? i seem to be having trouble on screwing the arm on to my tripod.

There is a significant price difference between the black version of this arm ($123) and the silver version ($170). That is a big difference for a difference in color. Are the two versions the same in features? Is the silver version made of a higher grade metal?
Currently the price difference is not as broad as this. As to why there is a any difference in price, we would go with the explanation the chrome plating costs more. Also know that retail pricing is not linear. It is based on cost, supply and demand. Those factors are what determine price. A much cheaper price might reflect too much inventory and the product must be moved. A high price might reflect short supply and high demand as well as manufacturing cost.
