We cannot get this to work on our Mac laptop. They can hear us but we can't hear them once it's plugged in...?
Just FYI, I talked to Jeff in troubleshooting for the CAD and it still doesn't work. I will try to call you again when I have more time to throw at this device...ok?

What software--if any--do I need to record meeting audio using the microphone?
In order to record audio using the CAD U7 Boundary mic, you will need an audio recording software. There are many free software downloads available. We recommend Audacity which is both Mac and PC compatible, and will allow you to record, edit and export your audio files. Available free at http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Would this work plugged directly into an iPhone (ios 8.2, and assuming I have the right lightning cable)?
The CAD U7 is designed for use with Mac or PC computers via USB only. Unfortunately at this time there is no smartphone support for this device.

How long of a USB extension can be used with this and still have it be effective? 20 feet? More?
For best functionality, it's recommended to keep standard usb cables under 10'. If you need to have longer runs, you would need an active usb extension cable to help prevent data transmission issues, such as BH #KRCAUAMUAF25.
