SLIK SBH-120 DQ Overview

The Slik SBH-120 DQ Compact Ballhead 120 with Quick Release is a compact and lightweight ballhead that will support up to a lightweight to medium SLR system. The head features an easy to use single-lever release that locks the camera into place with one single action. In addition, it also features a handy quick release system which makes the connection and removal of the camera a "snap."

Differing itself from many inexpensive ball heads on the market, the base of this head can rotate (pan) in addition to the ball movement. This makes horizontal movement of the camera much faster and easier.

Good Value for the Money

It's a well made, fairly sturdy medium sized ballhead capable of supporting a variety of cameras. While the platform is a bit small I would buy again based upon build quality and price.

Solid ballhead for the price

Performs great and holds in place wellquick release plate bushing is kinda lame. They used some generic cork material which there isn't a replacement cork material once it wears out. Basically just buy a whole new plate, or go to hardware store and buy cork-like or rubber and make the gasket yourself. Seriously how are they gonna make a decent ballhead but forget to make replacement parts for the quick release plate? I still give it four stars because it performs welleven though cutting out the gasket to replace the wore out one is kinda annoying.YOLO

Would this work as a copy stand mount for a Sony a7iiii and Sigma 70mm macro lens?
Asked by: Philip
You can certainly is it on a copy stand but a ball head would be fiddly to use in that capacity, I would recommend no head and attach the camera directly to the copy stand as intended or use a small tilt head, but attaching a head to a copy stand will change the camera position off center.

I am buying the Manfrotto Compact Light Aluminum Tripod BH #MACOMPACTLTR. Will I need the Oben 3/8 -1/4 SHB-100 DQ Reducer Bushing with this Slik SBH -120 DQ ballhead?
Asked by: Gerald
Hi, no, you won't need a bushing in order to mount this head on the tripod.

question

How does this differ from the SBH-100DQ, can the SBH-120DQ take the SAME release plate that fits the SBH-100? (Or are they different sizes?)
Asked by: Eddy
The SBH-120DQ and the 100 DQ both use the same quick release plate:https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/580570-REG/Slik_618_744_Quick_Release_Plate_for.html
