OP/TECH USA 1101131 overview

  • 1Description

The OP/TECH USA Lens Mount Cap is designed with an O-ring seal which creates a positive contact with the full perimeter of a Leica-M lens mount area, locking out dust and moisture. It also offers a tighter friction fit over traditional caps that come with the lens, providing better protection to the lens mount area. This ensures that the lens mount cap is securely held in place while in storage or transit.

This item is made in the USA.

Lens Mount Cap for Leica-M Lenses is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Secure Rear Lens Cap I just bought my second OP/TECH rear cap for Leica M mount lenses. It's sturdily made and fits securely because an O-ring is compressed against the lens flange as the cap is twisted on. This is also supposed to keep water from getting in between the lens and the cap. It's a bit larger than other caps because the plastic is a thicker than usual casting. It doesn't say anywhere in the package, but the lens attaches to the cap the same way it mounts on the camera body. That means it has to be aligned correctly when it is twisted on. A small bump in the plastic indicates the correct orientation. That bump is hard to see so I colored it with a small dot of paint.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Larger than expected I used the product to cap the back end of a lens. It worked fine. Only complaint is the size. The diameter of the cap was larger than the widest point of the lens, substantially.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very well thought out. This cap would be the bees knees if it worked for M-mount lenses with rear elements that recess deeply into the body. None of the recent UWA Voigtlander or M-lenses will work, I found my 35mm and 50mm lenses were about all that would fit. If this was just a little bit deeper it would be perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Only the best Perfect, much better / secure seal than OEM plastic unit. The only hit I give is the fact that the diameter is so much larger than most lenses - would have been nice to have a small option for smaller diameter M lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens cap for the price This back lens cap is flawless. It fits tightly around the lens. Keeping safe and will not accidentally fall off. For the price you cannot find anyone better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great alternative to the Leica cap I would have given it a 5 if it was smaller. I do like the fit, seal and price.
