Profoto Air Sync overview

  • 1Description

The Air Sync Transceiver for Packs and Heads with Built-in Air from Profoto is an eight channel radio slave transceiver designed to work with the any Profoto pack or head with built-in Air radio technology. It will also function with other power packs or monolights without built-in radio slaves by simply wiring a second tranceiver to it. The Air Sync can control the firing (but not power levels) of an unlimited number of power packs and monolights on eight channels

Operating from two AAA batteries, at a frequency of 2.4GHz, the Air Sync has a range of 1000' (300 m). It can sync up to 1/250 second with a focal plane shutter camera, and 1/500 second with a leaf shutter camera. Its triggering speed is over 100 fps.

Note:Not compatible with the Pocket Wizard system

    Profoto Air Sync reviews

Air Sync Transceiver for Packs and Heads with Built-in Air is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good unit, just do a little homework My Air Remote TTC and B1 were already rock solid and never miss a flash. So, I bought one of these to act as a receiver and run a Speedlite off of it. That way I could have a nice kicker light as a secondary source. It works fine. The only frustrating part is that the Transceiver did not come with any cables to plug into a device snd I could not figure out what to buy online. So it took a visit to my local Samy's Camera store to find what I needed. After that, everything was great! You would not have this issue when running it in Transmit mode. So, I really think the device is a 5-star product. The lack of a cable and delay in finding the right one was aggravating and a little more costly than I had calculated.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No flaws so far I use this to receive on a pro six power pack to sync with my D1 500ws air kit monos, and works great. It comes with a sticky cold shoe that i put on the side of the pack and use mini pc. nothing loose, looks clean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from very, very handy Air Sync and Air Remote - what a great system. I use them both with Profoto gear and outdoors with speedlights and to remotely trigger extra cameras. I'd like them more if the bottom of them was flat instead of curved. It would make them much more secure when velcoed to other things. They're possible a bit on the fragile side too. The first time I ever dropped an Air Remote, 1/2 the little LEDs stopped working - had to pay to get them repaired.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves time and increases flexibility Solid workaround if you need to drive a Broncolor pack from an odd set up. E.G., Phase One with WLF for macro... They have several different units to speed your workflow..
