uLite Two Light Kit is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 36.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great light for the price!!! Just used this kit in a photo shoot with my 2-year-old son. It is amazing what a difference a cheap light kit can make to your photos. With both lights at 500 watts I was able to shoot at ISO 400, 1/60 and still get an f/stop of f/5.6. Brilliant! The down side is that this is a cheap kit, and you get what you pay for. Our studio has not had this kit very long and already some of the stand knobs are getting stripped out. However, we put a lot of wear on our equipment, as there are a lot of students using it. If you are carful with your equipment and take good care of it, this is the perfect kit to start out with. If money is not an issue for you, then get a pro kit like the Arri 1000 4 light kit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would be nice to receive a complete kit I would really love to write a review about the equipment, but it's hard because I have not received the complete kit! The box was completely sealed, showing no signs of being tampered, however the light bulbs were missing from the kit. Westcott has been responsive in getting my light bulbs, but I now have to wait another week before I can use the product! It's just frustrating. But as for the rest of the kit, the stands looked like they are decently made, and appear to be sturdy. I like the fact they they can received different accessories incase I would like to use something else beside the light boxes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a great starter kit and more I have a mobile photography studio that I set up at special events and night clubs. This kit has a small foot print which is great for the space I usually have to work in. The included floodlights were a bit warm for my usual 10x10 work area, so I bought some 300 watt compact florescent bulbs from the local home improvement store. That did the trick!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Higher quality My employer had this same kit from several years ago and I recently decided to buy one for myself. To my surprise the new kits that are being made are higher quality than the old ones. The soft boxes now have vent flaps and feel like they're made from thicker material. The stands are quite nice too. These put off a lot of nice even light. They get hot. But that is expected. I use them for video.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. The two lights and stands are cheaply made, but easy to use. I was a little worried about breaking stuff, as it all feels a bit brittle, but it definitely got the job done. Very easy to set up with very bright lightbulbs. One of my lightbulbs did already break, though. They break VERY easily, so just a heads-up. Overall, though, it's so much cheaper than legitimate light kits that it makes DIY projects a breeze. I've had a really good time playing around with it thus far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Two important points These are my first soft boxes and I'm very happy with the quality of light they produce. (I used the bulbs that come with it). I am using them for studio video shoots. Two issues I wanted to point out which I thought could help others: I did not find it took much muscle to set up the boxes and I think that is because I put the 4 metal prongs into the fabric softbox corners Before pushing down and securing the center ring. Then, when pushing in the ring the prongs opened the box just like opening an umbrella. Unfortunately the photo directions show the ring in place before the fabric is attached !?! I could see how hard it would be to attach the box afterwards, like stretching a cover over an opened umbrella. Also, at first I could not get one of the softboxes to sit all the way down onto the top of it's tripod, and used it that way, but it didn't seem totally secure. I later learned that if you keep repositioning it and working it, it will eventually lower, and should end up flush for a better connection. (The rubber tips should stay on the tripods tops) The quality is acceptable for me, I don't feel like it will break super easily, although I am gentle with it, and realize it's a low cost kit. This type of bulb does get hot, and makes the subject hot, but I knew that. I like that down the line I can buy the adaptor to change bulb type if needed. Overall I would recommend this kit. Hope this was helpful. :-)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from works well Set up was fast and easy. It lights up my SMALL studio space well but the catchlights are not as big as I would like them to be. The 50 softbox would have been a better choice for me. For someone just starting out though, this would be the way to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good deal overall Overall, I was very pleased with the product. It is not top of the line, but our lighting needs are not very demanding (independent documentaries and web/commercial video work) and this serves well. Set up is pretty straight forward (fast once you do it a couple times) and the kit is remarkably light and sturdy for the price. Much better than our old set up which was a pain to put together, hard to fit in small spaces and unreliable.
