The Pelican 1740 Transport Case with Foam in black is an unbreakable, watertight, airtight, dustproof, chemical resistant and corrosion proof hard case that can be used to carry and protect your equipment from impact damage. It is made from ultra high-impact structural copolymer for strength and durability. It has a 0.25" neoprene O-ring, easy-open double-throw latches that seal perfectly. It includes an automatic purge valve for quick equalization after changes in atmospheric pressure.

The 1740 comes with two haul handles and built-in polyurethane wheels with stainless-steel bearings. The padlock protectors provide added strength and extra security against cutting and theft.

This case has a six-piece "Pick and Pluck" foam set interior.

I purchased this to bring a tradeshow booth around the country with me. I check it in the belly of the airplane every time I travel, and it has held up incredibly well. I think this thing is bulletproof!!!

Great case, needs extra handle

The case is high quality and functional with wheels, rugged security and space for our two tripods, light stands, and etc. We were able to consolidate several bags into this one case. It also was great for air travel going below deck and keeping our tripods safe. This would get five stars if it had a third handle on the mid section. The handles are only on both ends meaning it must be rolled or carried stretcher style. This makes it harder for one person to lift the case. That said, we're happy with this purchase and have no regrets. This case has become more useful than we anticipated.

This case is exactly as expected (large & near indestructible). It fits my critical photo gear and then sum. The only flaws are that it doesn't have a handle to carry sideways and the clear display pocket (or whatever it's called) opened and lost my lost & found info when checked as baggage on my last flight.

Perfect fit for Traveling with Telescope Tripod

I wanted to protect my Sky-Watcher EQ6R-Pro telescope tripod for extended travels where I would need to ship my equipment. It is a perfect fit. I transferred my equipment from the original shipping box over to the Pelican's chest - used a little foam to secure and snug the contents - PERFECT! The 2 locks will also secure the contents while in transit. I am able to fit this in the back seat of a Honda Civic, so it should fit in most cars or trucks. The best thing is the wheels that allow for an easy tot to the location. This helps keep everything organized and stable. B&H was quick to get it out to me and the staff was knowledgable and friendly - the price was right also.

Rock solid and American made. Impressive rigid shell for such a large case. The foam was layered and easy to work offering options and superior protection for my gear. Couple this with B&H's ease of ordering and super quick delivery....I made the right decision on both accounts.

Does someone make padding for this case? I do not want foam, I have worn through the foam already and want to replace it with something better.

No other type of padding is made specifically for this case. Pelican foam is the only fitted, manufactured replacement.

The Pelican 1740 cases has interior dimensions of 41 x 12.9 x 12.5 inches so it would easily fit more than 2 Arri AS2 light stands.
