Wrapped with a graphic featuring the names of prominent astronomers and scientists who advanced humanity's knowledge of the stars, the Celestron FirstScope 76mm f/4 Alt-Az Reflector Telescope is designed as an ideal entry-level optic for observing the Moon and planets, comet-watching, and enjoying meteor showers. This tabletop telescope features a Newtonian reflector optical design, and comes with two fully multi-coated 1.25" diameter eyepieces that yield 15x and 75x magnifications. Celestron FirstScope reviews

    FirstScope 76mm f/4 Alt-Az Reflector Telescope is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A bargain for a child or adult This telescope is a bargain beyond even what I expected. It's a really good little telescope, especially if you already have some nicer eyepieces. For a 3 telescope that's barely bigger than 2 Coke cans, you can see some great stuff. If you're considering one for a child, it's probably better than you are likely to get even from more expensive scopes from a big box store. As long as they're patient and over about 10, this telescope is good enough not to disappoint them, but not expensive. The little Dobsonian mount is smooth and easy enough to track objects. The included eyepieces allow you to see Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons. Views of our own moon are incredible. It's the perfect size to take camping and is small and light enough to easily carry to dark places away from lights. It would be nice if it had better eyepieces, but that would make it cost a lot more. They're not great, but good enough. I don't think you can beat this quality or deal for double the price. Buy one for yourself, and one for a gift.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I used this for a science expo project and my teacher, friend, and I love it. Although I wish I had it for the lunar eclipse but still amazing. My dad bought it but he likes to use too. Very good for a first time telescope.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Execellent The scope is stylish in apperance. The adjusting control is quite precise. The 20mm eyepiece produces a very sharp image, but the 4mm image is poor. Perhaps a better 4mm piece would have produced a better view.Even if the FirstScope had costed $80 I would have still have bought it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice beginner telescope It's a good deal at the price, but it's worth investing in a new eyepiece.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would Definitely buy this again THis is a great started telescope. It has good clarity and you can see alot further distance than you would think. The kids love it, I can barely get them in the house once the stars come out!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bang for your buck This is a wonderful telescope for the price. The cost per square centimeter of reflector is excellent. Perfect for showing the young ones the heavens without having to worry about breaking.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good value for the money. I bought for my 7 year old for his birthday. He was impressed by how well he could see the craters on the moon. We were even able to see a couple of Jupiter's moons.
