1200 Watts Total Power with CinemaFILTER
With seven speakers rated at 130 watts each and a massive 290 watt subwoofer the HT-S7200 has more than enough power for even the largest living room. But it's a gentle giant. With the CinemaFILTER, you can soften overly bright movie soundtracks, which are typically mixed for reproduction in a movie theater.
Audyssey 2EQ Room Correction
With the supplied calibrated microphone, Audyssey 2EQ automatically determines the number of speakers connected, their size for purposes of bass management, optimum crossover frequencies to the subwoofer, and distances from the primary listening position. Audyssey 2EQ then removes the distortion caused by room acoustics. The result is clear, well-balanced sound.
Audyssey Dynamic EQ,
With Audyssey Dynamic EQ, you can enjoy great sound even when listening at low volume levels. Audyssey Dynamic EQ solves the problem of deteriorating sound quality as volume is decreased by taking into account human perception and room acoustics. It does so by selecting the correct frequency response and surround volume levels moment-by-moment so that the content sounds the way it was created at any volume level—not just at reference level
Late Night Function
With the Late Night function, you can reduce the dynamic range of Dolby Digital material so that you can still hear the quiet parts even when listening at low volume levels—ideal for watching movies late at night when you don't want to disturb others.
Music Optimizer
The Music Optimizer function enhances the sound quality of compressed music files. You use it with music files that use "lossy" compression techniques, such as MP3s.
A/V Sync
When using progressive scanning on your DVD player, you may find that the picture and sound are out of sync. With this setting, you can correct this by delaying the audio signals from 0 (off) to 100 ms in 10 ms increments.
HD Radio and iPod Ready
Just as TV went high definition many radio stations are adding high definition audio channels to their analog signals. The analog signals won't go away but you may be missing some great programming if you don't have an HD-compatible receiver. A proprietary Universal Port allows single-cable connection of an optional Onkyo HD Radio tuner or the included dock for the iPod.
