If you've been looking for a way to remotely trigger your DSLR along with your strobes, this camera release cable, by Impact, does exactly that. This cable feels ruggedly built and is the right size and length to keep inside your bag. The surprise, once you own one, is how useful it is. For portraiture, it comes in handy when the camera is fixed on a tripod so that the photographer can focus on a child's expression or the posing of a group in an editorial or environmental portrait. Simply attatch the cable to the DSLR and your wireless receiver, and trigger the transmitter in your hand when ready to shoot. This remote functionality shines in lightpainting as well. Instead of relying on an assistant to move a light or press the shutter button, I can hold a reciever-attatched speedlite in one hand, the transmitter in the other hand and trigger both the strobe and the reciever-cabled camera, all with a push of a button!

Can I use this cable to trigger a Canon 6D Mark II with this cable using a Pocket Wizard PlusX? The end 3.5mm side of this cable will work? I bought similar cables and this end fits small. Thanks!

question

Hello! I am wondering if I can use this cable to trigger a Canon 40D and 5D Mark II with this cable using a Pocket Wizard III? I know that the 40D and 5DmkII use the N3 connector, but I am wondering if the 3.5mm side of this cable will work? ie press half-way for focus/lock, and full press to actuate the shutter. Thanks! -nema

Yes, the Impact PowerSync Camera Release Cable for Canon 3-Pin Type Cameras would be fully compatible with the PocketWizard III Transceiver Remote as a remote cable to trigger the Canon EOS 40D & 50D wirelessly using the PocketWizard system.
