With its continued stellar reputation in high-definition distribution, Kramer once again raises-the-bar of excellence with its TP-552 HDMI Over Twisted Pair Receiver. Designed and built with both HDTV home theater and presentation/multimedia enthusiasts in mind, this unit offers twisted pair (RJ-45) signal conversion to a HDMI output at a maximum data rate of 1.65Gbps. It's compatible with HDTV signals, is HDCP compliant, and works in conjunction with Kramer's TP-551 transmitter. It offers a system range of up to 120' (40 m) with 1080p HD and up to 200' (60 m) with 1080i HD signals. Moreover, this versatile receiver features 4-levels of EQ (peaking) control and enhanced Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) for reliable connectivity.

For optimum performance it requires the use of dual STP (shielded twisted pair) CAT5e (24AGW) or CAT6 cables; and it's rackmountable with an optional rack adapter.

Designed and built with both HDTV home theater and presentation/multimedia enthusiasts in mind, this unit offers twisted pair (RJ-45) signal conversion to a HDMI output at a maximum data rate of 1.65Gbps. It's compatible with HDTV signals, is HDCP compliant, and works in conjunction with Kramer's TP-551 transmitter. It offers a system range of up to 120' (40 m) with 1080p HD and up to 200' (60 m) with 1080i HD signals. Moreover, this versatile receiver features 4-levels of EQ (peaking) control and enhanced Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) for reliable connectivity.

This unit must be used in conjunction with a TP-551 transmitter to achieve a complete solution.
Twisted Pair (RJ-45) Signal Conversion
Twisted pair (RJ-45) cabling uses 2 conductors (forward and return) that are twisted together in a specific fashion (pitch/twist rate per meter) to cancel out electromagnetic interference and crosstalk (noise) from external sources and its environment. This technology enables a system range up to 120' (40 m) at 1080p HD, and up to 200' (60 m) at 1080i HD when paired with the TP-551 transmitter.
Compatible with HDTV Signals
Its video transport circuitry supports 720p, 1080i, and 1080p HDTV signals at a maximum data rate of 1.65Gbps. In conjunction with the optional TP-551 transmitter and CAT5 cabling, the TP-552 is capable of receiving a 1080p HDMI video/audio signal (i.e. Blu-ray player) from a different room within your home or office from a distance up to 120', and output the same HD signal to your Plasma/LCD display. In addition, it's HDCP compliant, and compatible with both NTSC and PAL systems.
EQ Control and LED Monitoring
Use one of the 4-levels of EQ (peaking) to adjust the equalization levels according to the length of the connected CAT5 cable; also it features (3) status LEDs for input, output and power monitoring.
Extended Display Identification Data (EDID)
The unit can store a separate EDID for each input in non-volatile memory as well as having a default EDID if one is not stored. This allows a convenient and reliable connection to the source.
Uses Dual CAT5 Cabling
For optimum performance this unit uses dual STP (shielded twisted pair) CAT5e 24AGW cables or CAT6 cables. Note: using UTP (unshielded twisted pair) cables can reduce the system range.

Aside from its rugged chassis, its standalone compact design belongs to the Kramer TOOLs family of products and offers an optional RK-3T 19" rack mount adapter that mount (3) units side-by-side in a 1U rack space
