Kino Flo 55C-K32 reviews

True Match 21 " 55C-K32 Compact Lamp - 55W/3200K is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fluorescent fixtures are great. I love fluorescent fixtures, and in particular, Kino-Flos. Kino-Flo makes a fantastic product. They are more expensive, and in some cases, much more expensive than other lights but, they are worth every penny. That being said, the only knock I have against Kino-Flo is their lamps...and it is a small knock. I'm no expert but, to the eye, these lamps don't always look true to their suggested color temperature. It does take awhile for a Kino-Flo Diva or other Kino-Flo light to warm up, and come to it's true color temperature. However, just to my eye, they don't always look exactly like 3200 or 5500K color temperature. It's not a big deal on my shoots, as I often color correct in-camera, or on the fixture itself. And, the fact that Kino-Flo makes a great product, I don't mind that their bulbs don't exactly reflect their supposed color temperature. Overall, still a great product...and worth buying.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a Diva Bulb I use lots of different types of Kino Flo products and the ONLY reason I gave this 4 stars is that I'm not a huge fan of the Diva Bulbs in general as they don't come in safety coated versions and they are more delicate when removing bulbs. I much prefer the SC 4 bank bulbs (2 thru 8 ft) But...The color temp of these is just as good and the output is surprisingly high!! So from a quality of product for actual use it's a 5 star, but design compared to their other products...4 Star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Improvement over the 2900K lamps I had to change out all my 2900K lamps because of a terrible magenta shift that became even more pronounced with newer cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works the best I tried several different bulbs in my Kino Flos and these had the most accurate color temp out of all of them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Magenta issue. Someday, KinoFlo will fix the magenta hue shift issue with these bulbs, other than that, works great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OEM bulbs are the only way to go There are some alternatives to KINO bulbs. I tried an off brand recently (purchased through...) and the colors were unusable. The daylight bulb had a green haze mixed in, and the tungsten bulb was far too in the red spectrum...very salmon looking. I do not like the fact that there is no competitive alternative bulb to help save a few $$'s...but these bulbs are right on and I recommend NOT using anything else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a bulb They make light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK, but... I have a Kino Diva and a 30 x 30 soft box with a Lowel Tota as the source light. I love my Kino and it is convenient in the sense that you can do daylight or tungsten but the Kino tungsten bulbs don't even closely match the tungsten fixture. It's not a problem since I don't ever use them at the same time but I was surprised at how different they looked. The Kino bulbs are much more magenta in color.
