Nikon GP-1-CA90 reviews

GP-1-CA90 Accessory Cable is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works with GP-1 After bouncing around in my truck for 50k miles while traversing North America, the cable got crimped over and the GP-1 wouldn't function. It would be really helpful if the cable had a 90 degree angle at the camera end. That's where it gets pinched on my D5000 and D7000 (and it appears the same on D5100, D5200, D7100 and D600). The D800 cable is different with a built right angle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cable works fine - but Nikon should design it at a 90 degree The cable works fine with a Nikon D7000 and the GPS. My only complaint is that the fitting going into the camera body is straight in and on the side of the camera body. The plug should be at a 90 degree angle so that the plug does not get damaged. This is now my third cable as they are easily damaged.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expensive replacement This cable is a replacement for the original that came with the GP-1. As a piece of equipment it is nothing less than perfect. My complaint is about the high price for a small cable. I use it to connect the GPS unit to my D90. On my D3X I use the other cable supplied. I had to buy this cable because the original had its wires broken. This was caused by my practice of placing the camera in my bag with the GPS mounted on it and the cable connected. No, I was not lazy, the camera is kept on with the GPS connected, so I do not need to wait till it finds the position for each shot I take. This useful equipment should be better designed, with this kind of extensive use in mind. Better, I now choose cameras with the GPS inside.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does its job I'm using it to connect to a D750, and in that role it does the job. Only time will tell if it survives - since it connects to the body in a manner where any stress will either damage the cable or the port on the camera. Upon simple inspection I'd prefer that it was designed to sit flush, against the body. Damage can be avoided by unplugging the cable each time the camera is not in active use - but that may prove inconvenient for some.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fits Perfectly I use this on a GP-1 I purchased for the old circular connector on the D2X so I needed this converter for my new D7200. It is however, extraordinarily expensive for an 8 inch cable ... ergo the 3 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with GP-1 & D7000 At first this did not work with my new D7000. Fortunately I was able to prove the D7000 was at fault and it was replaced. The GPS socket on the D7000 seems flimsy. The cord is not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cable works as promised I like to have GPS on almost every photo. It replaces a cable with a broken connector. Worked first time when plugged in.
