Regular monopods with feet are not stable they sway. Ive tried several.
Yes, this stand can be adapted to a camera mount but I would not recommend it. It will not be stable and if you do not attach a head to it, you will have no way of panning and tilting the camera.

How wide is the stand when it is collapsed/ flattened? How deep?
It is about 4x1.5 when collapsed. We have a set of 3 that we travel with and they clip together and easily fit in a regular sized suitcase.

No, the legs are not as tall so it won't hook in.
