8-Port Gigabit GREENnet Switch is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product, Return Customer! I am a 30+ Telecommunications Technician by trade. At work I use high end Networking gear. At home I dont have the budgets they do at work. I want reliable, affordable and easily configurable devices for my home Network and family use. Last thing I want to do is come home and troubleshoot Network Issues. This is my second Trendnet product. It foot the bill for all my criteria for years and as my Network grew I stuck with Trendnet. There tech support is excellent as well. As far as CONS, I havent found any yet, except internal power transformer would be nice on all models, those bricks take up a lot of space on Power strips

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complicated setup Recently my old switch stopped working in my office and so I purchased the Gigabit GREENnet Switch by TRENDnet.I simply plugged in the cables and it worked like a charm. Its energy saving features are plus. I also like how it tells you (by the color of the led) what kind of speed is being delivered to each computer. Just because the switch can deliver gigabit speed does not mean that your older computer is capable of using that speed if it only has a 10/100 MB ethernet card installed. It also has a very durable metal casing, rather than plastic. I have nothing negative to say about this switch. Great bang for the buck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, great bang for the buck! The Trendnet gigabit ethernet switch was easy to install. And all of the devices now connected to it are running at their optimal levels. I like the solid feel of this switch in its metal box. A good change from all of these plastic switches. It is nice to see the green lights by those devices that are receiving their full gigabit speed and those devices that are unable to operate at that speed show up as a yellow light. I am very satisfied with the performance of this product and was even more satisfied with the price. It is nice that one can still get a quality product for a great price ($).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent switch for home use Netgear Gigabit 8 port switch is very useful. I have two of them at home, I use one of them inside my media console to connect my Apple TV, PS3, Receiver, VOIP phone, media center PC etc to the network. I use the other switch inside the central panel where I use it connect the Ethernet outlets across all other rooms including our office room. I have been using one of these switches for more than 1 year. For my home use, I am pretty happy with it. When I conducted some speed test, I was able to get upto 50MB/s data transfer rate, between my iMac and and HP PC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great value! 8 port gigabit switch for under $30? You bet. I bought an Apple Airport Extreme recently and it's been a great upgrade. However the one downside of the Apple router is that it only has 3 ethernet output ports. With my home network growing, it was time to add some extra ports. Enter the Trendnet 8 port gigabit switch. Simply plugged it in and everything worked brilliantly. Now I can connect my iMac, printer, Sonos, PS3, BluRay and DVR independently to the switch. Everything works and there are no compatibility issues. Super product, excellent price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You can't go wrong Easy setup. Works flawlessly, even though I have it chained into another switch and then a router. Power saving features work as advertised. ... The only improvement could be better mounting options. I wanted to mount the unit vertically using screws and the keyholes in the case. The keyholes are drilled so that you can only mount it with ports facing right, up, or down (not left). Not a problem for me, but it might be for someone else. On the plus side, rubber feet are included if you just want to lay it on a horizontal surface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't have been easier Unit was shipped and arrived very quickly. I have never used a switch before but it couldn't have been easier. I took it out of the box, connected it to my router, plugged other things into it and they worked. Simple as that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREEN AND LEAN I had this switch up and running literally seconds after I took it out of the box, but I guess switches are generally easy to use. I've been using this switch in our small office. We needed something to expand our wired network connections without creating lag or congestion. From what I recalled, switches are the ideal choice over other options like additional routers or hubs. The function and value of this product makes it a no-brainer for me to give it five stars.
