Manfrotto Background Support System Reviews
Flimsy, overpriced, no trust
2 stars because it does what it’s supposed to do. Hold a backdrop up. A star for light stands that do the minimum. A star for a rod that does the minimum. The light stands themselves are so small and flimsy. They could literally fall over with the smallest breeze and the material is so cheap for what it costs to purchase. The rod holding the backdrop is fine, but LITERALLY any of the cheaper brands can do the same function. Do not recommend you guys. Just invest in strong metal light stands or lighter light stands, and a separate rod. You will save money and get a much better product. You’re welcome.
Doesn't fit Superior paper (only Supreme)
I agree with other reviewers that the leg stands are very light, but I think that's the point: it's good for travel. I would recommend using heavier legs with 107'' rolls of paper, but this is fine for the 4 foot rolls and smaller. Ideal for traveling to a client and hanging something small & light. I'm a newbie at backdrops (been shooting on site and outside for 10 years) but I just opened a studio and bought both Superior and Supreme papers. Unless I'm doing something wrong, it seems that this crossbar is too thick for Superior to fit over, so you'll only be able to use Supreme with it. This worked fine in a pinch but I agree it's expensive for being such a light weight model. If you have time to research your own piecemeal setup, that might be even better than this. But not bad. Happy shooting!
