Visual Echoes FX5 Better Beamer Flash Extender for Use with Telephoto Lenses - for Canon 430EX & Pentax AF500FTZ

The Visual Echos FX5 Better Beamer Flash Extender will help increase the reach of the flash and increases the flash output by about 2 to 3 f/stops. It focuses and concentrates the output of the flash into a narrow beam via the fresnel screen that gets positioned in front of the flash. This allows shooting at greater distances and shooting with smaller apertures.

The Better Beamer is designed to be used with lenses 300mm and longer, and its rugged, injection-molded plastic side supports are attached to the flash head by a sturdy elastic "hook-and-loop" band. The rigid supports hold the Fresnel screen in place in both horizontal and vertical formats. Just weighs 2 1/2 oz.

The FX5 version is designed to costum fit the Canon 430EX and Pentax AF500FTZ flashes.

Excellent for wildlife and birding photography, where long-distance fill-flash is often required, especially with a bright sunlight background. The use of fill flash opens up the shadows without the appearance that a flash was used.
When used with TTL flash metering, exposure is automatically set by the camera and flash, and no special compensation is required.
Reduces the drain on battery power by two-thirds.

LensCoat BeamerKeeper Pouch for Better Beamer (Digital Camo)

The LensCoat BeamerKeeper is a neoprene bag fitted to organize, protect, and carry your Better Beamer Flash Extender. It allows you to store your collapsed Better Beamer flash arms and fresnel lens in this protective pouch during travel and also during transport in to the field. A 1" belt loop allows you to connect the BeamerKeeper to your belt or to a belt system, and the bag also includes a heavy duty snap hood to clip onto your belt, jacket, or camera bag.

Digital Camo is an advanced computer generated camouflage pattern. It is modeled after the U.S. Army's standard-issue ACU pattern, which provides a pixelated pattern that maximizes visual break up. The pattern, constructed from small rectangular pixels of color, mimics naturally occurring dappled textures and rough boundaries.

LensCoat FlashKeeper (Digital Camo)

The digital camo FlashKeeper from LensCoat is a neoprene pouch with touch fastener closure made to protect a flash unit from nicks and scratches during transport. An exterior pocket accommodates up to eight AA batteries. The 1.0" wide belt loop can be used to secure the FlashKeeper to a belt or belt system; the pouch also comes with a heavy-duty snap hook to clip onto your belt, jacket, or camera bag. Does this extender come with a lens or do I need to also buy the $9.95 Fresnel lens featured in the accessories column?
Asked by: Anonymous
The visual Echoes FX5 Better Beamer does come with the Fresnel lens. The Fresnel lens you see in the accessories section would be a replacement part.

question

Will this also fit on a Canon Speedlite 430EX III-RT?
Asked by: William E S.
I have the Speedlite 430 EX II, and the Better Beamer FX-5 will fit it, but not perfectly. I believe it is designed for a larger Speedlite. I do, however, love the results that I get from using the Better Beamer FX-5!!
